Three TED Talks About Music You Should Watch

TED talks should be known to anyone reading this post. However, if you are not, then it is time for you to use your video viewing properly and learn something in the process. Each of these TED talks about music will take your perspective of classical music to new horizons. They take less time than a sitcom and reap benefits far greater.

Benjamin Zander TED Talks About Music

I first saw this talk years ago and it is still one of my favorites. Benjamin Zander has an incredible way to connect and explain his vision. You will be inspired as you listen to him helping those in the room realize their untapped love of classical music.

FYI: Anyone interested in the inspiration of Benjamin Zander’s talk should check out the book he co-authored titled The Art of Possibility: Transforming Professional and Personal Life. It is an amazing book I am in the middle of. My mind is spinning daily as the pages go by.

Michael Tilson Thomas’s TED Talk

Michael Tilson Thomas should need no introduction. If you are unsure of him, then search for him and you will find more than you need to know about this amazing musician. In this talk, he enjoyably takes an overview of the development of classical music through written notation, the record, and the re-mix.

Daria van den Berchen TED Talk

Daria van den Berchen has a serious obsession with George Frideric Handel! Don’t worry, it’s a healthy one. Now, her goal in life is to ignite this passion in others. She has played her piano while sailing with her piano through the air, driving it down the street, and of course playing on the stage. Handel’s life and music is quite a story and she delivers it in a way that makes you want to only play Handel.
